1. Consensus regarding theology based upon an interpretation - whether correct or faulty - of some biblical topics, is insisted upon by the hierarchy (who are appointed by the hierarchy) in certain denominations or churches, and all congregants in those denominations / churches are expected to adhere to the same interpretations (and the theology based on them), in order to maintain the consensus (often disguised as "unity"), but:
2. Those who believe in Jesus, His teaching and His message, and believe what is written about God, life, death and the resurrection of the dead,
don't all arrive at the same understanding with regard to everything that is written.
Besides the above, by their own admission and theologies, Christians are divided into two categories regarding the biblical scriptures:
(a) Those who believe in (and place) the authority of biblical scripture above all the doctrines and theologies of men ("God's Word above all things"); and
(b) Those who do not.
However, in reality there is a third category:
(c) Those who claim to believe in the authority of biblical scripture above all doctrines and theologies of men, and yet fail the test when confronted with a choice between their own doctrines and theologies and preconceived beliefs, and what biblical scripture actually teaches.
The posts and pages in this site reflect an understanding of biblical topics which may or may not be shared by others.
