"God has set A DAY on which he is going to judge the world in righteousness, by a man whom he designated, having provided proof to everyone by raising him from the dead." (Acts 17:31).

JUDGMENT AND PUNISHMENT IN THE BIBLE
THE PROPHET DANIEL:
Daniel 12:2
"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."
THE APOSTLE PAUL:
Acts 24:15
"And I have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust."
JESUS:
John 5:26-29
"For as the Father hath life [zoe] in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life [zoe] in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Matthew 25:31-33, 41 & 46
31 "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels."
46 "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal [aionios zoe]."
THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST:
Revelation 11:17-18 (seventh trumpet)
"We give you thanks, Lord God, the All-Powerful, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and begun to reign. The nations were enraged, but your wrath has come, and the time has come for the dead to be judged,
and the time has come to give to your servants, the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints and to those who revere your name, both small and great, and the time has come to destroy those who destroy the earth."
Revelation 20:11-12, & 15
"I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."
EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT:
"THE GEHENNAH OF FIRE" | "THE LAKE OF FIRE"
Jesus said,
"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body [G4983 soma] but cannot kill the soul [G5590 pusche]. Instead, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in gehennah [G1067 geenna]" (Matthew 10:28).
Matthew 5:21-22 talk both about judgment [G2920 krisis] and punishment in "the gehennah [G1067 geenna] of fire":
"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment [G2920 krisis]: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment [krisis]: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the sanhedrin [G4892 sunedrion]; but whosoever shall say, Thou fool [G3474 moros], shall be in danger of the gehennah [G1067 geenna] of fire." (Matthew 5:21-22).
Mark 9:43 records Jesus speaking about the gehennah as "the fire that shall never be quenched":
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into the gehennah [G1067 geenna], into the fire that never shall be quenched." (Mark 9:43).
The gospels use the word gehennah every time Jesus is recorded as talking about an everlasting punishment (which has not happened to any soul yet).
Gehennah: Matthew 10:28; Matthew 5:29-30; Matthew 23:15 & 33; Luke 12:5; James 3:6.
Gehennah of fire: Matthew 5:21-22; Matthew 18:9; Mark 9:43, 45 & 47.
In the New Testament, the things that are written about "gehennah" and "the lake of fire" are both found to represent an everlasting punishment *:
Revelation 14:9-11
"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
"This requires the steadfast endurance of the saints - those who obey God's commandments and hold to their faith in Jesus." (Revelation 14:12).
* No one has ever been thrown into the lake of fire yet. The Day of Judgment has not come yet.
